Why Wednesday and why Waitangi Day?
6 years ago we met up in Melbourne. The first time we saw each other over here was going to see Salmonella Dub play a Waitangi Day concert ...And here we are 6 years later...
Before and after the day
We'd love to see as many of you as possible while you're in Melbourne. Especially those of you who're flying in. We can't wait to see you all!
To make it easier for everyone, you're invited to BBQ's at our place before and after the wedding. Choose any/all of the nights below.
- Sunday 3rd Feb - Our place from 6.30pm
- Monday 4th Feb - Our place from 6.30pm
- Tuesday 5th Feb - Phil and Tania's place from 6.30pm
- Thursday 7th Feb - Our place from 6.30pm
The plan is open home BBQ. We'll have some food and drink laid on, but feel welcome to BYO to help us out! If it rains heavily - we'll play that one by ear.
Our place - address is on invite. Phone or text us for directions if you're not sure. We can also provide Phil and Tania's address in Brunswick.
By train: 10mins easy walk from Coburg station (Upfield line)
By tram: 19 tram 15mins walk. (This is the tram from Elizabeth St in the CBD which travels down Sydney Road).
Between the tram stop and train station are 3 supermarkets and two liquor stores all in one large open air complex, so it's easy to grab supplies on the way to our house.
For all you out-of-towners the Connex website has loads of information on all public transport routes and times for Melbourne.
Registry info
Some friends have asked us about wedding presents. To help with ideas, we've set up a wedding registry at www.thankyou.com.au.
On it we've put some items that'll be useful. Of course, this is a guide and if you had something else in mind, that's fine too.
Please remember that first and foremost - your presence at our wedding is a great present - especially for those of you travelling to Melbourne. And for all of you who're taking a day of leave to be with us on our day.
How to log on:
- Visit www.thankyou.com.au. On the right hand column:
- Select "Wedding" as the occasion.
- Surname - type either of our surnames.
- Date - 6th February - of course!
- Click the little magnifying glass...
- This will take you to a screen describing our occasion. Type the name of our cat (in ALL CAPS) as the password.
- You should be now logged in.
- Text or email us if you have problems
We chose this website so you're not tied into any particular store, and to give you more flexibility. Like any registry, once you choose an item, please notify the system so it can be removed from the list that other people see.
Some items we need more than one of, and you can just pick the quantity you want to take care of, tell the system and the next person just sees the remainder.
